If you are thinking on becoming a breeder or perhaps breeding a
litter or two, please consider the following rules and
responsibilities below.
The German shepherd is a popular breed but does not mean that
good homes are waiting for every puppy that is born.
The puppy that you sell to a less-than perfect home might end up
abused, neglected, mistreated or even passed on to another less-than
perfect home.
Unless your German shepherd is fully titled by achieving awards,
Schutzhund titles and/or breed quality certified "Kkl1", you may
have a very difficult time in selling or finding a good home.
- If your thinking on becoming rich by selling German shepherd
puppies you are very mistaken. Please consider on doing
something else.
- Watching a litter being born is not a good procedure to
teach your children of the fascination of birth.
- While in labor your female may need your help in delivering
her pups and if you are not prepared for this task you may end
up loosing the puppy or puppies. Now, what kind of an experience
would this teach your children.
- If you must breed your female German shepherd, please go to
an experience breeder and ask for their advice.
- You can also invest in a book that is specifically written
about breeding your German shepherd dog.
- The most important think to remember is that you are trying
to improve the breed by breeding responsibly.
